Have you ever had moments where you thought you were nothing, or someone else told you that you were nothing. These kind of thoughts and words can be damaging to your complete social makeup. When you see yourself as a "zero" it creates a negative mood, and can lead to thoughts of worthlessness. But I am here to tell you, zero is a number too, and when you add something to it; it automatically changes your present situation. Today, start adding good things to your life, a good church, good friends, good music, good decisions and yes, a good God. If you're reading this and you see yourself as a "zero" or you know someone who thinks this way, let me encourage you, add Jesus; it will change the totality of your life. Don't count yourself out!!

My morning walk concluded, I headed back to my residence, I reached a four-way stop intersection, I looked to my left, and to my right, to my left a gray SUV and to my right a gray car. The distance of both cars were such as I could have walked in the intersection, being that I had the right of way. But I felt like I should remain, until I was absolutely sure the vehicles would see me, as I was looking to cross. It’s good that I remained stationed, because the vehicle to my left, did not stop, it flew right on through the stop sign, as if it were a green light. I stared the car down as it went on it’s way. The car to my right saw me, and waited patiently for me to cross, I waved with thanks, they waved back. I wondered as I headed home, was that the enemy? Or was this person so distracted that they did not see me or the stop sign? If it was some sort of devilish influence inside that car, it’s only a reminder of his aims. I didn’t take it for granted that the vehicle would stop, just because I felt like I had the right of way. One of the early lessons in life, is to look both ways before crossing the street. This is a good practice. But it’s also true as a follower of Christ-as we live out our faith, we must practice looking both ways. In other words caution must always be taken. In the book of Proverbs it says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but it’s end is destruction.” This truth can be applied to all facets. The word ‘Seems’ means, give the impression or sensation of being something or having a particular quality. Jesus says I am the Way... He is the quality, He is the way we should be going. Our ways should please the Lord. As our ways please the Lord, we become more aware and alert. Lord God, make us more aware and alert in Jesus name, amen. I can only imagine what the opposite could have been, had I stepped out in the street. I thank God for whispering to me, to not go, but to wait and see. I thank him for the teaching of looking both ways. .

There is a purpose we need to pursue, there are places that we need to go, there are promises that need to be kept, in order for us to fulfill this calling that has been assigned to us, because people’s lives are at stake, even those within our own household. We have the answer to their problems, especially their sin problem, the answer is Jesus Christ, who through Him, man is reconciled back to God. We need to return, it is imperative that we return to His righteousness. We are not asking you to rush into it, I’m telling you, you need to hurry, be quick about it, grab a hold on to this Gospel, learn of it, and let it transform your life to righteousness, for in the end, this will be the way in. Any day now, the return of Jesus will happen, the return of our hope, coming to receive us unto Himself. Let’s ready ourselves now, let’s make the decision to follow Him. Don’t waste another minute, take that leap of faith, and believe this truth; it is the gospel of Jesus Christ, affectionately known as the good news. If you wait, if you say “I got time” I’m sorry, but tomorrow is not promised, this is not a fear tactic, but it’s a love tactic. We share this because we love you, God loves you, and He has given us His all, in order for us to be reconciled, to be returned to His righteousness. It may appear that we have it made in this world, with all of it’s fantasies, but what was once a truth, eventually evolve into an illusion, which is why, it’s important that you realize the truth, and that is what has been revealed to us in these last days. Remember that hope I mentioned? That is what was revealed to us, Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, who walked among men, to present unto us God the Father. Among His many teachings, there was a calling, a compelling, a compassion on display for your salvation. You may not realize it yet, but then again you may, but there is something special about you, you are worth saving, you are worth the promises that are given, although it was prescribed with pain; nails, crowns, humiliation and death. But nothing was greater than the hope, because what was also prescribe, was resurrection, a rising again, rising above it all. You too can rise, you too can be resurrected from death to life, since He’s already paid the price, your decision is only to receive this gift of hope, and live out your days as a follower, revealing yourself as a witness, that you were once dead, but now you have been made alive, in Him. .

You know the feeling you get after buying a new car, you learn of a feature it has, and you say to yourself, “wow, that’s pretty cool.” One Sunday morning, while on my way to church, I activated my turn signal, as I was preparing to exit, in doing so, my navigation activated also, on the screen it read, “Warning Message, Narrow Lanes.” At the time, I had not been driving the vehicle very long, so this discovery impressed me all the more. I know, it’s just a car, but I believe something to be gained from the warning message. My initial thought, was lane management, now that I’ve been made aware, Can I manage my driving, in the narrowed lanes? Of course I can, being the master driver that I am, just kidding, sometimes my ego gets the best of me, forgive me, lol. But seriously, this warning no doubt, designed to keep me safe, as I drive on the narrow road. As I thought about the narrow road, I was reminded of a scripture in Matthew 7:14, it reads “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” This text is put in comparison to the previous text, which speaks of a wide gate, a broad way, that leads to destruction, and many go after it. The following verse is a warning 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” Hear is a warning message, “Beware!” Yes, it’s true, false prophets are real, and they know how to dress, they can appear to be real, but inwardly they are like ravening wolves, the word ravening means, someone who is ferociously hungry, like a wild animal. They are hungry to steal you away from the Shepherd, the narrow way. Have you heard this phrase “So-in-So, has lost their way.” It speaks to a person, choosing a way different from what they know to be the right way. Often it comes from a new ideology they have been exposed to, so they go that way. In ignorance they dismiss the warning, and follow the way that is broad or wide. They are enticed because it’s appealing. Many people are traveling the broad way, the way that is wide. It doesn’t take much discipline to go that way. In fact, you don’t have to focus on being obedient, you don’t have to subject yourself to God or anyone for that matter. And that’s the way people like it, many go that way, despite the warning. But the narrow road, this is the road, where one lives in obedience to God, where discipline and careful attention must be practiced. As believers we have this internal navigation system, the Holy Spirit, it’s ever present, to warn us, to keep us mindful to manage the narrow road. There are few who find it, I don’t know about you, but I want to be among them, will you join me?
